Legend of Korra – Season 3, Episode 10 Review – Long Live the Queen

Long Live the Queen

Picking up after it left in episode 9, Asami and Korra are being transported to Ba Sing Se under the Earth Queen’s orders. Asami manages to break free from her chains due to the poor workmanship on the ship. Asami knocks out the guard and frees Korra who causes the ship to crash into the desert.

Meanwhile, The Red Lotus arrive at Ba Sing Se with Mako and Bolin in tow, tied up and being held hostage. The Earth Queen gives them audience and is pleased with what Zaheer had to say. The Earth Queen puts Mako and Bolin in jail once there, Mako tries to make Bolin metal bend out, but it fails.

In the desert, Korra, Asami and the crew members work together to fix the ship, but a huge desert monster arrives and completely destroy it. They come with the idea to create a makeshift sand-sailor from the rubble and head in the same direction as before while the sand creature gives chase but soon gives up. One of the crew members notice that a dragon is nearby, causing the captain heading to the bar with his members.

Once hearing that Korra has managed to escape, The Red Lotus take down the Dai Lai and even the Earth Queen. Zaheer publicly addresses the citizens of Ba Sing Se that the city is now theirs. Ghazan destroys a section of the Wall that surrounds the city creating chaos. This is part is left with Zaheer visiting Mako and Bolin in prison and saying that he wants them to deliver a message to the Avatar.

At the tavern, we are re-introduced to Tonraq, Lin and Zuko. There is a brief introductions and a snide remark from Lin, but it is broken when on the radio it is announced that the Earth Queen is no longer in power.
